Commissioned by the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW and exhibited at the 2022 Royal Easter Show. Part of a 200 year history of portraits. This portrait is about light and personality - essential ingredient for those living on the land. I travelles out to Michaels farm near Orange, NSW and he generously took me on a tour of his home. Mount Knobolis can be idenfied in the background. For those in the know, Chmolais cattle, Michaels beeding cattle, can also be seen in the background. The colour palette and light tonal quality represents his sunny and down to earth personality.
