Artist's notes: Inspired by Her Majesty’s Theatre and the rich performing arts history of Adelaide this design is a bouquet of South Australian native flowers – imagining the theatre itself as a grand dame receiving the honour of a bouquet at the end of each performance. South Australian Native plants and flowers have been selected, in a variety of soothing blues, purples and greens, providing detail and visual interest for adjacent residents. Species of South Australian plants can be identified - a little game for South Australian gardening enthusiasts and botanists. South Australian shurbs, herbs, orchids and lilies include: - Beaked Hakea (Hakea roastrata) - Cup Gum (Eucalyptus Cosmophylla) - South Australian Blue Gum (Eucalyptus leucoxylon) - Common Vanilla-lily (Arthropodium strictum) - Purple Cockatoo (Glossodia major) - Black-anther Flax-lily (Dianella revoluta) - Nodding Greenhood (Pterostylis nutans) - Blue pincushion (Brunonia australis) - Pale Fanfower (Scaevola albida) A note of devotion appears that the bottom of the composition, "For Her Majesty’s”.
